Persist, Rest and Reach Out.

Updated: Jan 27

Persist in whatever is calling to your deepest self. And rest deeply.

This poster hangs in my office/art room where I see it every day.

Overwhelm and self doubt may walk into the room with me, but so does a persistent, consistent belief in myself, my beloved clients, the work we're all doing, and you (yes you).

This week I realized it takes a village not only to raise a child, but to raise our Selves to their highest possible level.

Amidst some deep exhaustion, I took time to connect with beloved friends, healthcare practitioners and others who listen deeply, lift me up and remind me that to reach my potential, I MUST care for my Self. Deeply and consistently.

I'M SO TIRED! I hear this within myself and from so many people around me.

We all have different reasons for being tired, and we may never find the deeper causes within and around us.

Sometimes I try to find the root cause of intense fatigue that takes over me sometimes - is it a lifetime of dealing with neck and jaw injuries? Is it mold from our leaky toilet? Is it just my body chemistry? Is it something else?

We're all complex amalgams of emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, chemical and electrical components. Each of our bodies is a complex universe, so finding the causes of any feeling can be a challenging journey.

Regardless of why we're tired, I hear a chorus of REST, REST, REST. Deeply and fully.

And persist in the pursuit of joy, peace and good health.

I believe in my soul that the work of parents, spouses, children (of all ages), bosses, staff, and everyone in between is all on par with each other - all roles take persistence and rest to do well, and even more persistence and self care to thrive.

What this poster said to me today was...

Persist, Friends, PERSIST! In whatever is calling to your deepest self. And rest. Often. Deeply. Quietly. And know this is anything but selfish - a rested you is a gift to the world.

In your persistence and need to rest, remember you're not alone.

When it gets hard, I urge you to reach out to someone who will help. If you don't find someone the first time you reach out, reach again. Keep reaching until your heart says clearly, YES.

I have a plethora of incredible, brilliant people in my orbit who consistently and beautifully pull me out of my personal quagmire (when I remember to reach out). I'm more than happy to share!

If you feel you need something or someone and can't find it, PLEASE reach out to me right away.

I may be able to connect you with someone who can help. It doesn't hurt to try. It can hurt a lot NOT to try.

💜 Persist. And Rest. And know you're loved. 💜

XOXOXO,

Spring
