Day 5: Free Your Fridge

Updated: May 24, 2023

30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge!

Don't worry, I'm not going to make you clean your fridge!

If your fridge is covered in magnets, photos and who-knows-what, today is the day to free the fridge! We're going to clear off and clean the outside...

1- Take everything off

2- Wipe down the outside (see cleaning tips below)

3 - See how you feel with it clear

4 - Choose carefully what you want to go back on

I recommend taking a before and after photo - this does 3 things: helps you see more honestly, gives you an image to compare to, and shows you later what you may not want to go back to :)

Did you know olive oil is great for cleaning and shining up stainless steel? A little bit on a rag can shine a fridge right up! And you don't need chemicals to clean other materials - a little baking soda goes a long way, or vinegar and water (just don't use baking soda on stainless steel as it can scratch it)

I've slowly put less and less on the front of my refrigerator as I find I like the open space. Now I have a few simple things there, including a magnetic list where I immediately write things I need from the grocery store or Costco. I also love the quote from my Grandma and the reminder of how to stay in love - right at eye level when my hubby or I open the door <3

As always, if this One Thing doesn't resonate with you, choose your own one thing to clear, organize or clean to make this spring day more beautiful for your Future Self 🥰

And please share with me and/or with the TidyWild Facebook group what you do - there's no right or wrong, good or bad, worthy or not - ALL efforts are worth celebrating!

Plus, when we celebrate what we DO do, we're training our brains that organizing can actually be fun and rewarding, not just a chore :)

Happy Organizing!
